Isaiah 12:3 With joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
The culture would have us believe there is no personal creator, there is no absolute morality, that there is really no absolute truth. The forces of evil ploy that we would continue in bondage to fear and hopelessness—remaining slaves to darkness.
The prophet Isaiah delivered these words from the mouth of God for you and for me: “Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord is my strength and my song, and He has become my salvation.” (Isaiah 12:2)
God has an answer for all our troubles, and His name is Jesus. It is possible to trust in the living, intimate Creator. It is possible to obey God’s saving laws and commands. We most certainly can attain perfect, sanctifying truth. We can know what it is to live unafraid of the unknown. But we’ll never achieve this in our own strength. This is the part most do not embrace from Scripture. The sin that lives within desires to take credit. The pride of man prefers to believe he’s more than he is. That’s also true of you and me. However, Isaiah proclaims, “I will give thanks to You, O Lord, for though You were angry with me, Your anger turned away, that You might comfort me.” (Isaiah 12:1)
“Your anger turned away.” why? Because Jesus satisfied God’s wrath toward you and toward me on Calvary.
“You comfort me.” how come—if I’m so wretched God would destroy me? Because God so loved the world—you and me. God formed us in His fearful and wonderful image. Our souls are precious to God.
So we see, all things good and perfect come from above, and with joy we can draw water today from the wells of salvation.
