God was angry with the people He freed. They refused to listen. Oh, they claimed allegiance, but loved to wander.
Jeremiah was God’s prophet. It was given to him to listen. To be in direct communion with God so he might speak what was right, and that by God, the people would be saved from their wicked ways. It wasn’t a glamorous job . . . it was a glorious one. To be one with The Lord is the greatest gift of all.
I was a wanderer. Ignored the hard way for the easy run. Until I couldn’t run, couldn’t walk, couldn’t stand it anymore. God met me on the floor. At the bottom of the barrel is generally where God finds His chosen people. When we want nothing more than to shed our skin, the Holy Ghost steps in. Not because we’re all that—because of His love.
When we realize we were born to love God, we stop chasing our tail and start walking in grace. Cuz we weren’t meant for this race. Our soul was created to walk in the garden in the cool of the day, with God, not hiding from Him.
We’ve been told, “God does not see, nor does He understand,” and bought it, hook line and sinker. And it’s left us empty, aimless, and confused.
Nothing can compare with the precious promises of God. For God so loved, He sent His Son, not to prove or condemn, but to save from ourselves. To be His child is to be as His mouth. To utter what is precious, and not what is worthless. To be God’s child is to be His saint, not because we’re a cut above, but cut to the heart because we hear His voice.
“You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory and the One who lifts us my head.” (Psalm 3:3)
