I‘m scared to tell you, Your wrong about God—because I’ve been wrong, oh so wrong, and who am I?
The Bible says that if we seek the Lord our God with all our heart and soul, we will find Him. Are you looking for God? Wondering what God’s whole plan is for you? Do you have questions about heaven and hell? Wondering who, what, and where He is?
He’s right at your fingertips.
The Bible says saints are to love the Lord their God with their whole being, and love their neighbors like themselves. But what does godly love even look like? Does love look different inside, as opposed to outside the body of Christ? The Bible says it does. The love God has for those who love Him, looks drastically different than the love He holds for those who don’t. For whom the Lord loves, He corrects. Our parents disciplined us the best they could . . . but God the Father? for our profit, that we may become partakers of His holiness. Well that changes everything doesn’t it? And that’s my whole point. It’s why I sat down to write a year ago. Why words, and teachers, and bible translations, and draft, after draft, after draft had to be written—so the mess inside my head could all come together.
For the record, I’ll share this one quote from Spurgeon. It will help those of us who struggle with God’s discipline: “The sword of justice no longer threatens us, but the rod of parental correction is still in use.”
Okay, back to the book. I have a million whys? and why nots? And one by one—God answers them. For every dozen questions I blurt—Jesus has one that settles all twelve.
The only way I know how to order my thoughts is to write them down. Remember Divine Surprise? Yeah, the memoir that turned me upside down. Well, I wrote another book, a different book, God Speaks for Himself, and this book has me inside out.
I love many of you like my neighbor, I love others like sisters and brothers. But I want all of us to understand Jesus more than ever. I want those inside the Church encouraged to know The Word like the back of their hand, and those outside the Church to see it’s possible. That God Speaks for Himself and Trusting the Voice Who Spoke Everything Into Existence is key to every starving person. And who we’re listening to . . . will be the author of our story.
I’ve sent for a proof of my latest book, God Speaks for Himself, and I should have it for review by the end of May. Will the cover be right? Will the margins line up? God willing, it’ll be ready to offer to you. Stay tuned.
