Whoever, everyone, all people no matter where, when, or how are offered the door into heaven—which is Jesus. God desires that none should perish, but if we refuse to look up and trust with eager expectation, hell is our destination.

It’s important to keep reading, “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.” (vs 17) Eternal life is a gift, not a gimme. And hell is not a gimmick, but a just reality. We don’t go to heaven because we’re created by God, we are received into heaven because we believe God. We believe every word inspired by the Holy Spirit, even when it doesn’t make sense in our limited experience. We believe it so whole-heartedly we no longer put confidence in ourselves for answers. We consult The Word of God, not only in life-changing things, but in everyday life—because we’re no longer our own, but belong to God, we were bought by His blood. And we’re happier this way. We’re glad to be guided by love, wisdom, and purpose. Our lives were once chaotic, led by every silly whim, but now we have peace beyond understanding.

Pray with me: Lord, for every heart that does not believe You, may they hear You today. Draw them into Your Son, take their trust out of this world, and put it in Yourself. Amen.
