The world is all talk. Jesus is all power.

The easiest thing in the world is to counter attack, consider ourselves experts, act like we have all the answers. Human behavior takes no extraordinary power. But when reviled, how will we ever keep loving? When persecuted, where can we find peace? When slandered, how are we expected to respond with grace?

Love left heaven’s throne and descended, not in vengeance, but in the form of helpless infant. Joy overcame lies and accusations in His face and behind His back. Peace spoke truth & grace to the arrogant and envious in the world He built. Patience endured without a place to lay His lordly head. Kindness served friends who would deny ever meeting Him. Goodness gave to the many who sought only to use and abuse Him. Self controltook hold when accused of working with demons. Gentlenesswept for all who would choose everlasting darkness before eternal light in Him. Faithfulness bowed when denied three times His passing the cup of penalty for sins He did not commit.

When the Father allows the taking of our possessions, our daughters & sons, the skin off our backs — how shall we answer. . .  Your will be done?

It won’t be by strength of tongue — but by power that raised Jesus from the dead.
