{"id":13574,"date":"2024-07-20T09:58:40","date_gmt":"2024-07-20T14:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/joannalo.org\/?p=13574"},"modified":"2026-07-03T06:58:42","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T11:58:42","slug":"the-last-enemy-to-be-defeated-is-death","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/joalo.org\/?p=13574","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;The last enemy to be defeated is death.&#8221; 1 Corinthians 15:26"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><span style=\"color: #83b5cc\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\">G<\/mark><\/span>od hates death.<br><br>As much as human beings grieve death, ignore inevitable death, complain, weep, and curse death\u2014none so detest death as the only One who defeated it, Jesus Christ.<br><br>Death is not only a consequence of rejecting The Word of God, death is also a living being. Scripture calls him: <em>the prince of the air, Satan, the devil, deceiver, accuser, liar, beelzebub. <\/em>Death can sound like a friend. He talks like he can be trusted cuz he appeals to our feelings\u2014never to our realities. <em><span style=\"color: #000000\"><span style=\"color: #499cab\"><strong>Truth is death&#8217;s worst enemy<\/strong><\/span>.<\/span><\/em><br><br>It&#8217;s often said, &#8220;I don&#8217;t know why God let my mother, or father, or brother die.&#8221; As if God doesn&#8217;t understand suffering. We can think God unresponsive to our pain. This suggestion to our subconscious is death in action.<br><br><strong>The cross refutes every lie of the devil.<\/strong><br><br>Today . . . when you&#8217;re tempted to think no one cares, no one understands\u2014when Satan whispers, &#8220;You&#8217;re all alone.&#8221;\u2014<span style=\"color: #499cab\"><strong>remember the cross<\/strong><\/span>. Remember how the Father sent His Son, the Son humble Himself all the way to crucifixion, the power of the Spirit of God humiliated death by punching the grave in the mouth, and offers grace\u2014that His Presence in you might do the same.<br><br>&#8220;O death, where is thy sting, O death, where is thy victory?&#8221; (<span style=\"color: #499cab\">1 Corinthians 15:55<\/span>)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>God hates death.
