Have you known the Lords\u2019 rescue from certain disaster? <\/p>\n\n\n\n
I\u2019d huddled under the covers twelve days. Not with flu, or injury, but with panic attacks. At the time, I didn\u2019t understand what was happening. I only knew early mornings and afternoons felt like the plane was crashing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I prayed even harder, confident in my Heavenly Father.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
That final day he thought it would help to get me out of the house, enjoy a meal prepared by someone else. We sat across from each other with soup and salad between us, but I couldn\u2019t lift a fork to my mouth. Overcome with anxiety, I lost the powers of speech. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Back under the blankets, the lions mouth thought to devour me. \u201cWhere are you Jesus?\u201d<\/em> I cried in my heart like a child lost forever in a crowd. That\u2019s when the Spirit of God brought the very word of God home to the deepest part of me, \u201cSitting at the right hand of God.\u201d<\/em> (Col. 3:1b) And courage raced through me like a warrior in battle. The power of His word drew me out of bed, and to the hospital we went. <\/p>\n\n\n\n It\u2019s in our sinful nature to tell God how He aught to do great things. As Naaman thought the man of God would wave his hand over his body and heal his leprosy. But it was not to be. \u201cGo and wash in the Jordan River seven times.\u201d (2 Kings 5:10) Even Jesus\u2019s brothers told Him, \u201cShow Yourself to the world.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n God commands us to trust in Him, to live by faith and not by sight, knowing we have a better and enduring possession for ourselves in heaven. We do not cast away our confidence, which has great reward. For we have need of endurance, so that after we have done the will of God, we may receive the promise. \u201cFor yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and not tarry.\u201d (Heb. 10:34-38)<\/p>\n\n\n\n If today you pray and it seems God will not hear, trust in His promises. Remember God is just as much a patient mother as He is a saving Father. Don\u2019t turn stubborn under your own expectations, and fall prey to the lion\u2019s mouth. Don\u2019t be afraid to go wash in the Jordan River. Do not doubt Jesus is coming. Let\u2019s pray: Lord, Jesus, help us love wisdom and instruction that we may know You, the one true God. Forbid we ever turn away from the words of Your mouth. Incline our ears to Your sayings, let them not escape from our sight, keep them within our hearts, bringing life and healing to our flesh.
